How KnitterBag Was Born: A Story of Creativity and Passion
I am so happy to share the story of how KnitterBag came to life! It all began during a very special time in my life. My daughter was just one year old, and I was on an extended vacation from my main job in IT, where I worked as a project manager. With another year of maternity leave ahead of me, I found myself with something rare: time to explore my creativity.
I’ve always loved knitting, so naturally, my first venture was a shop dedicated to this passion. It felt like a game at first—a playful way to blend my love for knitting with the idea of selling handmade items. But then, something wonderful happened. I rediscovered my sewing machine! With plenty of free time and curiosity, I decided to try sewing. At first, it was just for fun, but soon I began to think: what if I could create something people would truly love and use every day?
As a knitter myself, I knew the struggles of keeping yarn and projects organized. My own knitting projects were scattered everywhere! That’s when the idea struck: project bags. I sewed a few bags designed specifically for knitters like me, and to my delight, they quickly became popular. One idea led to another, and before I knew it, new designs and colors were flowing effortlessly.
When it was time to return to my IT career—with its programming, testing, documents, and projects—there was no question in my mind about what would happen to my shop. KnitterBag had become a part of me, a reflection of my creativity and passion. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore; it was something I truly loved and couldn’t let go.
Now, after 15 years of running my KnitterBag shop, I’ve had so many wonderful experiences and countless creative ideas. KnitterBag has grown and evolved, but one thing has stayed the same: my joy in making beautiful, functional bags and organizers for people who share my love for crafting.
Thank you to everyone who has supported KnitterBag along the way. I’m so excited about the future and can’t wait to share new, fantastic bags and organizers with you. If you haven’t visited my shop recently, I invite you to come back and see what’s new. There’s always something special waiting for you!
There some moments with my daughter and me.
